What are some ways to control temper and management anger?
June 20th, 2009 by adminGive me some tips and advice on how I can control my temper and management anger. I get frustrated fairly easy lately and become angry. I don't want to be like this and want to gain control.
I only drink on occassion and in small quantities and I do not do drugs…so let's not bring this into an equation.
I often bite my nails when I get frustrated, too.
immediate ways: take many deep breaths. vision yourself smashing things. if possible, stay away from (or ignore) the source that's upsetting you until you can manage it better. vent it out on your blog =) music works pretty well too. chew gum, get a stress ball maybe? clench your fingers real hard (i love this becuase it feels like i'm strangling something or someone with all my might—physically: it lets out the tension in me when i get pissed)
long term way: run/jog (preferrably in a park when there's not too many people)

Look at things from a different perspective….Life is frustrating but not everything is worth reacting to. Choose your battles, take a deep breath and ask yourself "is this really worth getting upset about?"…Good luck

I applaud you for admitting you have a problem & want help. It takes a real man to admit that. Maybe it'd be best if you would attend some anger management classes, so you can learn how to vent your anger & frustrations. You're not alone in that respect, so get into some classes & give yourself time. One thing you need to learn, & that is patience. If you can learn that, maybe a lot of your frustrations will not lead to anger. I wish you all the very best.
