How can i control my very short temper?
January 7th, 2009 by admini always lose my temper even at the smallest things. i either slam doors throw things or break down and cry. I want to know if there are any ways to calm myself down or even stop myself before i lose control. Help?
I do that too i just go to my room, lie on my stomach and and kick or i throw the pillows. Im not sure of how this can be stopped. Ive never tried it but you could count to ten or take deep breaths

Sometimes I can be a little tempermental too, usually during my period. I try to talk as calmly as I can. If you can keep yourself from raising your voice, you can basically do anything else. Also, try to just give yourself a little time. If someone is really nagging you, say, "Excuse me, I need to go to the bathroom." and cool down a bit. Put everything in perspective, and you should be okay!

You don't need to "control" your anger. You need to figure out what it is that causes you to get so angry so fast. Somewhere in your head you have what seems like a rational reason to get so angry. Perhaps it is unreal expectations of yourself or others, or perhaps it is that you jump to a negative conclusion too quickly without examining the facts. It is called a thought distortion. And it is most certainly an unreal perception of what is really true. Whatever it is, you have to find it and rationalize it.

Since its over the top reactions, I would seek the advice of your health care professional. It may be physical, like an under-producing thyroid throwing all of your hormones out of whack. I went through this and once I fixed it up, my problem disappeared. I was also harboring a lot of anger about my past, so that could be part of it. I'm not saying it is, but it could be. Your doctor can help you determine what's the best step for you to take. Acknowledging your problem is the biggest and hardest step, so you're half way to feeling much better!
