Sorry if that sounds mean but she knwos she sucks she say it all the time i am very competative and i am biting my lip not to yell i give her tips but she doesn’t listen i don’t know how much longer i can take it before i blow up anyone have any tips on anger issues?

Okay, bear with me because my answer may end up kind of long, and it’s not a volleyball story, but relates to the same problem.

I play volleyball, but mostly for fun.
I also play fastpitch softball - and while it is fun, I am really competitive and I want to win.
I’m a pitcher and one of the big leaders on the team.
There are some girls who just don’t do well and I always get really mad.
I used to kind of yell at them sometimes…not like scream in their face but be like “LADIES, you HAVE to back-up your teammates!”
I knew it wasn’t good sportsmanship, but I just wanted to win and couldn’t control it.

But then I went to a volleyball camp to help me improve my game.
We were doing a scrimmage and this girl kept seriously screaming in my face when I couldn’t jump serve.
It made me feel so bad inside and I just wanted to run out of the gym.
Of course I didn’t and just ignored her, but internally it made me so upset that I couldn’t pay attention right.
That day I went home and cried (yeah I’m kind of emotional).
Then I realized that I do that to people, too, and it doesn’t help at all - actually it hurts your teammates, thus it hurts you, thus it hurts the team.
Instead, gently help her by saying “Nice try! But make sure you bend your knees more instead of swinging your arms so much on a serve receive.”
Then give her a high-five and help her practice when you can.
So basically the moral is, don’t scream, help your team. =)
Haha that rhymes!

Anyway, good luck with your team. =)

Hey everyone makes mistakes, why don’t you have her over and you guys can practice together. YOu say ok I will do the serve and you tell me what i am doing wrong and then you do it and i will help you! Just calm down and just help her without knowing she is being helped! ~KalissaGeorgia~
