At the end of a temper tantrum there is always the feeling of pleasure and, at its beginning, the anticipation of pleasure. This is the crux of the issue of temper: the anticipation of pleasure places a premium on the outburst. To curb temper, then, means to forgo a keen pleasure. And the average person is not easily induced to give up pleasure even if it is a pleasure that hurts.

I must be special then, I experience no pleasure at the end of a so-called "temper tantrum".

At what temperature do you temper chocolate?

It’s been a while and I need to refresh my memory!

I’m using Bernard Callebaut dark chocolate to dip some shortbread cookies into. I know I have to temper it or I’ll get the white powdery marks on it. I’ve melted it in my double boiler and have a digital thermometer, but can’t remember what temperature it has to be at!

Any additional tips will be appreciated!

How bad is your temper and what is your gender?

On a scale of 1-10

Mine is hard to rate because i’m never violent at all but i have a very explosive verbal temper. I would say 6. and I’m a male.
Wow. Lol. I think I’m being nice about my anger. I’ll give it a 7 to an 8 i guess. I don’t get violent with people but one time smashed a guitar into wood chips with a hammer because my computer was screwin up. Lol.

i don’t get tremendously angry that often, but i’d say maybe 7 or 8. i have punched holes in my closet door and broke a few cell phones. and i groom dogs as my summer job, and some of them can really, really piss me off.

What are some ways to control temper and management anger?

Give me some tips and advice on how I can control my temper and management anger. I get frustrated fairly easy lately and become angry. I don't want to be like this and want to gain control.

I only drink on occassion and in small quantities and I do not do drugs…so let's not bring this into an equation.

I often bite my nails when I get frustrated, too. :-P
immediate ways: take many deep breaths. vision yourself smashing things. if possible, stay away from (or ignore) the source that's upsetting you until you can manage it better. vent it out on your blog =) music works pretty well too. chew gum, get a stress ball maybe? clench your fingers real hard (i love this becuase it feels like i'm strangling something or someone with all my might—physically: it lets out the tension in me when i get pissed)

long term way: run/jog (preferrably in a park when there's not too many people)

What if my boyfriend has a really bad temper?

My boyfriend gets upset for almost anything! When he really loses his temper, it is pretty bad to the point that it scares me a little. I know he would never hurt me but i just hate his anger issues. Ive told him that he needs to do something about it because if he is like this now, how do i know what it will be like once we are married. What do you recommend?

Don't get married to someone with an anger issue. Sure you may think he may never hurt you, but people tend to change for better or worse over time. Don't take a chance with that. If he shows improvement for a whole year, then you can feel comfortable.

How can I stop my 2 year old from having temper tantrums in public?

My son will throw temper tantrums in public such as in store, etc. He will throw himself on the floor and kick and cry and won't hardly let me get him up. I put him in a cart in places that have them but some don't and even if they do there are lots of times he will kick so much that I can't get him in a cart. It is so frustrating and embarrassing. Any suggestions on how to deal with this behavior?

its terrible twos we all have to go through with it. my daughter didnt go through it but she is 5 and she acts like a teenager lol

I've been looking at mizuno mp-62's but i can't decide between true temper or project x shafts. I would want shafts that feel the same as my current ones. How can I deal with my short temper?

I have a really short temper, I tend not to express myself, and when I do, it comes out in a hurricane of emotions..I also am insecure and stuff,(also my brother loves teasing me and stuff) so is there anything to control anger, and all?

I keep a diary for my emotions but its turmoil..really.

I have intense anger issues too. When I get really frustrated about things I tend to want to scream or hit something. It relieves the stress a little, but it never really helps things sadly. So I don't advice doing that.
Not to contradict jukeboxguy00, but I know counting to 10 doesn't work for me at least.
When I'm really mad its too difficult for me to just count and breathe, it's not that simple to contain anger all the time. Maybe for some but, not for me most of the time. = /
I release some stress by listening to an angry song really loud with headphones, and screaming along with the lyrics. It helps if the music is loud enough to drown out your voice.
It also helps if your into bands like slipknot and stuff, haha. But um, if not then you could always try exercise. I remember when I was in Tae Kwon Doe classes all the punching and kicking and physical activity helped release my pent up aggression in a positive manor. Or you could always try getting a punching bag to hit and take out your aggression on.
You should try talking to someone you trust about the things that bother you, someone who'll just listen and stuff. I know I help a lot of my friends out by just listening to them and talking with them. Try not to let things pile up…as hard as that can be.
Writing can help a lot sometimes, but usually when I myself am angry and writing about something, I just tend to write angrily. Swear a lot, break the pencil, violently scribble, stuff like that. Cuz writing takes concentration, and patience that I don't currently have.
You could try talking to your brother about the teasing, but brothers are pretty good for not listening. -_-;;
So my best advice is ignore him, and drown it out. Siblings are usually there to pick on your and be a pain in the ass, if you let them get the satisfaction of pissing you off they just get to laugh about it later. Though I dooo know how difficult it can be sometimes, just try not to feed into it. It could possibly take out some of the joy he gets out of it, don't give up though. He'll continue for a while just out of habit, if he does in fact stop eventually without the re-enforcement of you not paying him any mind.
I apologize for this being so long but I'd like to hope that maybe I helped in some way. ^_^;;
Good luck, and hang in there. Anger can be tough to deal with seeing as its such a strong driving emotion, but you can be tougher. = )
