I have very lottle patients and three kids any ideas on how I can control my temper?

January 5th, 2009 by admin

It seems as though my kids know I am having a BAD DAY but continue to fight and nag each other, I ask them to stop and behave but they don't and I resort to yelling and spanking because I have talked and talked!

You have to find some down time for all of you in the midst of chaos! I know even professionals, like teachers, doctors, etc. will ask someone to watch the kids for a couple of hours so you can get away alone or with a friend for awhile. Maybe even exchanging babysitting with another mom can help you both. Otherwise, I used to just tell the kids to calm down and watch tv, read a book, or take a nap for at least an hour without bothering you or each other. Helps everyone's mood. When my kids were especially cranky during an already hectic day, we all sat down and told funny stories for a bit, or I read them a book and tried to have a good laugh. And then pray school will start soon and for God to give you the strength to endure childhood! Good luck!

Did Ghandi ever have to deal with a kid having a temper tantrum?

Probably not, but if he did he would have handled it much better than I can.

Do you expect your toddlers to have temper tantrums?

January 3rd, 2009 by admin

Both at home and publically? Do you think you can raise children in such a way that they never have temper tantrums?

It depends on the child, My daughter NEVER I repeat NEVER had a tantrum. She is now 7 and still has not done this, not at home and most deffinantly not outside of the home.

January 1st, 2009 by admin

No not inappropriate at all, hissy fits work best whilst at work. Especially if you say "I hate you all" and storm out to your car.

In Islam, how can one control their temper?

January 1st, 2009 by admin

I dont know how to control my temper and anger. after doing much worship (ibadat) for Allah, and supplications and optional prayer extra prayers, i am not able to control. there r certain situations and circumstances when i m frustrated and my behavior becomes very rude and i use vulgar words, bcoz i cant cool myself. afterwrds i feel sorry for myself. kindly suggest me how i can control my anger…

Anger is one of the evil whispers of Shaytaan, which leads to so many evils and tragedies, of which only Allaah knows their full extent. For this reason Islaam has a great deal to say about this bad characteristic, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) described cures for this "disease" and ways to limit its effects, among which are the following:

(1) Seeking refuge with Allaah from the Shaytaan.
(2) Keeping silent.
(3) Not moving.
(4) Following the advice of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
(5) Remembering what Allaah has promised to the righteous.
(6) Knowing the high status and advantages offered to those who control themselves.
(7) Following the Prophet’s example in the case of anger.
(8) Knowing that resisting anger is one of the signs of righteousness (taqwaa).
(9) Listening to reminders.
(10) Knowing the bad effects of anger.
(11) The angry person should think about himself during moments of anger.
(12) Du’aa’.
