Do you think "wow they are a bad parent" or "I feel so sorry them."
I guess it depends more on how they react to the tantrum. If they stand there yelling at the child telling them to stop it, I think yeah that’s bad parenting. If they give in to the child and give them what they want, yes that is bad parenting and will only encourage future tantrums. If they are picking the child up to take them home, they are dealing with it well. If they are ignoring the tantrum and not reacting to it at all that is possibly one of the best things they can do to prevent future trantrums.

Hi everyone, is it normal for a 1 year old to have a full on temper tantrum? Mine truly does seem to have them lately a lot. And yes, it absolutely IS a tantrum. How do you handle a tantrum in a baby that young? I want to nip it in the bud before he gets older. Thanks for your help.
My one year old is trying this too. I usually just ignore him. Sometimes that stops the tantrum. But if that doesn’t work, I get his attention on something else like one of his favorite toys.

At the end of a temper tantrum there is always the feeling of pleasure and, at its beginning, the anticipation of pleasure. This is the crux of the issue of temper: the anticipation of pleasure places a premium on the outburst. To curb temper, then, means to forgo a keen pleasure. And the average person is not easily induced to give up pleasure even if it is a pleasure that hurts.
I must be special then, I experience no pleasure at the end of a so-called "temper tantrum".

It’s been a while and I need to refresh my memory!
I’m using Bernard Callebaut dark chocolate to dip some shortbread cookies into. I know I have to temper it or I’ll get the white powdery marks on it. I’ve melted it in my double boiler and have a digital thermometer, but can’t remember what temperature it has to be at!
Any additional tips will be appreciated!
Thanks!
31.1 to 32.7 degrees Celsius (88 to 91 degrees Fahrenheit) for dark chocolate, the generic term for semisweet chocolate or bittersweet chocolate.
28.9 to 30.5 degrees Celsius (84 to 87 degrees Fahrenheit) for milk chocolate or white chocolate

As even the most liberal democrats are wakening up to Obama’s inability to understand finance He is starting to show frustration because they do not follow him without question. Soon the opposition will have the momentum to really pressure Him and then the sparks wil start to fly. Will the media report it or try and cover it up?
With Disney owning the majority of the media, I’m sure it’s already happened and edited out quite quickly. Personally, I’d much rather see Michelle having one on camera. That’s gonna come, too. Once the news reporters have the gag order taken off with respect to asking B.O. challenging questions, we may see some action. But I don’t see that happening in my lifetime.
Too many people and corporations have waaaay too much money invested in the chump, and they’re going to protect their interests. Punk or no punk, he’s still their Golden Boy and his strings are pulled by the behind the stage puppets.

my son is 16 months. and throws temper tantrum when we say no to him.
Depends, if you are in public I say distract. If you are at home and don’t mind him wailing then I say ignore.

On a scale of 1-10
Mine is hard to rate because i’m never violent at all but i have a very explosive verbal temper. I would say 6. and I’m a male.
Wow. Lol. I think I’m being nice about my anger. I’ll give it a 7 to an 8 i guess. I don’t get violent with people but one time smashed a guitar into wood chips with a hammer because my computer was screwin up. Lol.
i don’t get tremendously angry that often, but i’d say maybe 7 or 8. i have punched holes in my closet door and broke a few cell phones. and i groom dogs as my summer job, and some of them can really, really piss me off.

When I get mad I explode and I need help on ignoring people and block things that get me mad.
Laugh ! ! ! I might do something that goes awry and when I see that it happened, I laugh about it, because it was something I did that wasn’t very smart, but I can always fix it.
If someone insults me, I laugh. that really turns the situation around and that person usually gets mad, because he/she insulted me to get me mad about something and it didn’t work.

Hi,
I have a really short temper. When someone does one thing that upsets me, I get really angry. But I know this isn't right. So I want to know some ways on how to control my temper.
Any tips?
~Wolf
studies have shown that hitting stuff or yelling out your anger will make you feel better pretty quick but only make your temper worse in the long run. i've found that the best way to control your temper in the long run is meditate at least 1/2 an hour a day, get good exercise and eat right. stay away from red meat, caffiene and too much sugar. Try to stay positive. Think about the good qualities of the person that's made you mad or thing good things surrounding the situation that's pissed you off. Meditation is the most important thing. This is coming from a guy who had a doctor take his blood pressure when he was ten because my temper was so bad. Now I'm one of the most mellow people I know.
